Large Covid-19 spikes in two Peterborough areas

Two areas of Peterborough have seen their number of Covid-19 cases almost double in the past week.

According to the official statistics, the Central Park area has 57 cases, a rise of 27 in the week up to November 19 (90 per cent).

Moreover, Millfield & Bourges Boulevard has 41 cases, a rise of 19 (86.4 per cent) compared to the week before.

Both are well above average for Covid-19 case rates compared to the England average, the Government’s website shows.

Peterborough, like many areas of the country, has seen an increase in the number of infections over previous weeks.

However, according to the latest figures most areas in Peterborough have seen a fall in Covid-19 cases over the previous week.

In 22 areas of the city, eight saw a rise in the number of cases recorded in the seven days up to November 19 while 13 saw a fall.

Moreover, Barnack, Wittering & Wansford has had its “data suppressed to protect the privacy of individuals and prevent disclosure,” according to the website displaying the official figures.
