Coronavirus: Majority of Peterborough libraries set to re-open post-lockdown

The majority of libraries in Peterborough are set to re-open once the national lockdown ends.

Central, Bretton and Hampton libraries will re-open on Wednesday, December 2, while Dogsthorpe and Eye libraries (which had not re-opened prior to the November lockdown) will also open on the same day.

Orton and Werrington libraries will re-open on Thursday, while Stanground, Woodston and Thorney libraries are expected to re-open in January 2021.

Meanwhile, libraries across Cambridgeshire are offering a limited service to customers.

Customers can select titles online and collect them from venues as part of the county council’s Select and Collect service.

Mobile library services have also returned to their normal timetable.

Public access IT facilities are available by appointment only with a limit of one 45-minute appointment per day per customer.

Library meeting rooms will remain closed and events and activities will not resume until it is safe to do so, the council said.
