Coronavirus: Large rise in positive tests in Peterborough but no further deaths

There has been a large rise in the number of positive Covid-19 tests in Peterborough, but no further recorded deaths of patients.

The latest Government figures show that the number of confirmed cases in the city has risen from 295 to 341 in the past two days.

But NHS England figures show the number of people to have died at the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is 143, the same number as reported yesterday.

The trust, which runs Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital, has discharged at least 310 patients who have recovered from the virus.

Across the UK, the number of Covid-19 associated deaths has risen by 627 to 32,692.

In Cambridgeshire, the number of positive tests for the virus is 967, while in Lincolnshire it is 996 and in Northamptonshire it is 1,180.
