Coronavirus: 1,500 Peterborough pupils from 40 schools self-isolating

More than 40 schools in Peterborough have had confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the past week.

In total, 41 city schools have had a confirmed case, compared to 15 in Cambridge, 20 in Huntingdonshire, five in Fenland, 16 in South Cambridgeshire and seven in East Cambridgeshire.

The impacted schools are not being identified by Peterborough City Council or Cambridgeshire County Council.

Overall, a total of 182 staff and 1,067 pupils in Cambridgeshire are self-isolating as a result of Covid-19 cases, with 90 staff and 1,526 pupils self-isolating in Peterborough.

The Peterborough Telegraph revealed last Friday that Nene Park Academy in Oundle Road was closing for the day due to the high numbers of staff and pupils needing to self-isolate.
