The 14 areas of Peterborough to see a rise in COVID cases last week

A total of 14 neighbourhoods in Peterborough saw a rise in COVID cases last week, Government figures show.

Bretton Park saw a rise of 16 more cases compared with the previous week. Bretton Park saw a total of 28 cases last week.

The area that recorded the most cases was Central Park, with 36 cases - an increase of three from the previous week.

Six areas saw a drop, including Werrington, which saw fewer than three cases recorded in the seven days ending on November 5.

In total there were 327 cases in Peterborough last week, up by 48 compared to the previous week.

Peterborough has been split up into “Middle Layer Super Output Areas” (MSOAs) with a population of around 7,500.

Sadly since the pandemic started there have been 180 COVID deaths at Peterborough City Hospital.

Caroline Walker, Chief Executive, for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, said: “I can confirm that sadly, 286 patients being cared for in our Trust have passed away since we began reporting Covid-19-related deaths. There have been 106 at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and 180 at Peterborough City Hospital. All patients were aged 30 to 98 years old and had pre-existing health conditions.”
