The 11 Peterborough areas that saw a rise in COVID cases

Of the 22 city neighbourhoods, seven saw a drop in cases during the last seven days of 2020.

The areas which saw the most cases were Cental park and Fengate & Parnwell, with both recording 78 cases.

The biggest rise happened in Dogsthorpe, which saw 27 more positive tests compared to the previous week.

The highest rate in Peterborough is in Central Park, with a rate of 695.1.

The area with the lowest number of positive tests was in Werrington, with just 15 recorded.

The biggest fall in cases was in West Town and Woodston, with 22 fewer cases recorded. The lowest rate in the city was in Walton, with a rate of 188.6 per 100,000 people.

Across Peterborough as a whole there were 917 positive tests, a rise of 99, with a rate of 453.4, just above the national average.

The statistics have been released by the Government and are updated every day.

The country has been split into Middle layer Super Output Areas (MSOA), which all have roughly the same population, rather than using voting boundaries.

There are currently nearly 200 patients with COVID being treated for coronavirus at hospitals run by the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

Caroline Walker, Chief Executive, for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, said: “I can confirm that sadly, 408 patients being cared for in our Trust have passed away since we began reporting Covid-19-related deaths. There have been 123 at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and 285 at Peterborough City Hospital. All patients were aged 30 to 98 years old and the majority of those had pre-existing health conditions. We are currently caring for 198 patients with Coronavirus in our hospitals.

“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients’ families and loved ones at this difficult time.”
