Clinical Commissioning Group to hold ‘virtual’ annual meeting

The body responsible for handling the budgets of GPs across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire and how they are spent on patients will hold its first ‘virtual AGM’ due to Covid-19 precautions.

The annual meeting of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) will be on Tuesday September 15 at 10am.

Dr Gary Howsam, local GP and chairman of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG said: “The last year has been a very busy year for the CCG and the wider health and care system. At the height of the Coronavirus (COVID‑19) pandemic every aspect of health and care had to adapt rapidly and work differently. I am proud to say that all staff and organisations involved in delivering care came together, working with patients and carers, to respond to the challenge.

“We are still dealing with COVID-19, and in the current situation it would be difficult to have a public meeting, therefore we have moved our AGM online. We hope this will make the meeting accessible to more people, as no-one will have to travel. Anyone with an internet connection can log on to our website and watch the meeting live. People can also ask us a question using the MS Teams facility.”

At the meeting, the CCG’s officers will also present their annual report and accounts for 2019-20 while reflecting on the past year’s successes and challenges.

The meeting will be a live stream via MS Teams.
