Work took place on the new area over the summer, and was finally able to open last week.

It contains seating and outdoor planting, and includes a name plaque, which hangs in pride of place at the entrance to ‘Bookworm Wood’.

‘Bookworm Wood’ can be accessed by pupils during their lessons with the class teacher, or used as a social space, for quiet reading, writing and discussion at break and lunchtimes for the older pupils, as it sits alongside the Year Five and Six playground.

Rachel Tansley, English Lead at Orton Wistow Primary School, said: “We have been extremely excited watching this project develop and have a school full of excited children, ready to put it to good use!”
