New principal at Stanground Academy in Peterborough

As youngsters start at new schools for the first time this week, Stanground Academy has had a new principal join their ranks.

George Lewis has started in the role having previously served as Vice-Principal for eight years at Bedford Academy.

Stanground Academy, which is rated Good by Ofsted and is sponsored by Greenwood Academies Trust, also has two new Deputy Principals starting this term, Simon Jay and Kevin Ainslie.

Mr Lewis, said: “I am delighted to be joining Stanground Academy. The Academy, its students and staff are already performing well, and I am very excited about what lies ahead. Like Stanground Academy and Greenwood Academies Trust, I have the highest expectations for what young people can achieve and am committed to all students being given the opportunities to fulfil their potential.”
