City 3D printing specialists Photocentric will be the anchor of a new three-storey manufacturing and materials research and development centre at the ARU Peterborough campus, based around the Embankment.
The £16.47 million project off Bishop’s Road will provide students with access to cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, while companies will also carry out research into technology which will allow for reduced carbon emissions within business.

Hide AdIt has now been revealed that next to the centre will be a decked car park with up to 180 spaces, with the potential for additional capacity.
Vehicles would access parking and a drop-off area by an extension of the entrance proposed for the first teaching building at the campus, which is due to open next year.
Plans submitted to Peterborough City Council ahead of the submission of a formal planning application state that: “Priority has been given to pedestrian, cycle and public transport use with the alignment of the foot/cycle path.”
Plans for the new university, which will be run by Anglia Ruskin, include demolishing the existing Wirrina Car Park and introducing 48 new spaces, although these will not be for staff, students or visitors.
