A-LEVEL RESULTS: Ormiston Bushfield Academy celebrate best ever A-Level results

Ormiston Bushfield Academy's sixth form students are celebrating their best ever A-Level results, with the overall pass rate increasing from 94 per cent to 99 per cent.

The number of students hitting the highest grades was also up by five per cent on last years results with 38 per cent of students achieving the top A*-B grades this year.

Sixty five percent of students achieved A*-C grades, up eight percent from last year.

The Academy’s specialist subjects have excelled once again with 100 per cent of BTEC performing art students achieving the highest grade - a distinction star, and 62 per cent of students achieving A*-B in A-Level Maths.

The Academy saw success across a range of subjects, cementing its reputation as a place of academic and vocational excellence.

One hundred per cent of physics students and 83 per cent of economics students received A*-B grades, and the Academy also secured a 100 per cent pass rate in its vocational subjects.

BTEC ICT students excelled in particular, with 80% achieving a distinction star.

Some of the Academy’s top successes include Libby Moules who achieved A*AA, Sophie Huskisson who received AABB, and George Penfold who achieved A*A*AB.

Dennis Kirwan, Principal of Ormiston Bushfield Academy, said: “Once again our students and staff have been rewarded for their hard work and effort throughout the year.

“We should be especially proud that these are our best every results.

“This just goes to show that the improvements that we’ve put in place across the school over the last few years are paying dividends.

Haseena Manji, Head of Sixth Form at the Academy, said: “Out sixth form has excelled this year.

“Our students have worked very hard to secure these results and they should be delighted with what they’ve achieved - we are really proud of them all.”
