Jobseekers give school a revamp
Jobseekers taking part in a horticulture course have helped revamp Beeches Primary School in Millfield over the summer.
The 10-week project run by charity Groundwork has seen the volunteers concentrate on four areas - a woodland area, a courtyard area with a sensory garden, an allotment area and a final space which has a raised bed.
Most of the money for the scheme was put in by the charity.
Employment and community project officer Mike Radford said: “It benefits Beeches Primary and the guys get a qualification at the end. It’s a double winner and it’s been a very nice project to do.”
