Judith Jacobs, who runs Moor Farm, in Newborough, says since the Government imposed a lockdown to stop the spread of coronavirus she has been eight times as busy, with huge queues of customers now a regular feature outside her shop.

She said: “There have been massive queues outside the shop. We are off the beaten track so it is great so many people have made the effort to find us.”

The growth in sales from the shop and a 10-fold increase in deliveries to vulnerable people has also meant the farm has needed to take on an extra member of staff.

Judith, who is a founding member of the campaign group Ladies in Beef, which promotes awareness of the quality and versatility of British beef, is hoping an appreciation for the farm’s own produced beef and lamb plus locally sourced vegetables, cheeses, yoghurts and creams, stays with customers well after the pandemic is over.

She said: “Our beef is raised to very high standards, the animals are grass fed, and beef is high in protein and is good for the immune system.

“There are low food miles involved and complete traceability.”
