The Oundle-based manufacturer has named David Tydeman as its executive chairman.

Mr Tydeman is credited with taking Oyster Yachts, of Southampton, into the superyacht sector, with 80 per cent of all Oyster’s boats over 80ft secured under his leadership since 2008.

His appointment comes as Fairline Yachts looks to expand.

The expansion will involve the launch of the F-Line 33 and the Squadron 64 yachts plus ongoing investment in production, including at its new Marine Park facility in Hythe, in Southampton.

A spokesman for Fairline Yachts said: “David is well known in the UK marine industry and brings a wealth of relevant experience to the senior team.

“His deep knowledge of the UK boat building industry, the South Coast work force and its supply chain will help lead Fairline’s strategy for the new Southampton site.

“He is well placed to guide the board with the investment decisions necessary for Fairline Yachts to enter the larger boat market.”
