Residents see plans for new Peterborough supermarket

Residents took the chance to see plans for a new supermarket in Peterborough at an open event.

The proposals for the new Lidl, which could be built on Lincoln Road, Walton, were on display at the Werrington Leisure Centre on Friday.

Visitors to the event were able to ask questions to Lidl staff and view the proposed plans.

The proposed multi-million pound investment will see Lidl commit to building a sustainable 2,443m² store on a 8,004m² site, with plans to create up to 40 new jobs. The supermarket will boast state of the art facilities including a bakery, 6 tills and 138 parking spaces.

The company hopes to submit a planning application mid-April and those who wish to view the plans online and share any feedback can do so at www.lidlwerrington.live.jll.com.
