The project will provide one to one mentoring advice and support to people who are in work, but on low incomes and looking to improve their skills and in turn their earning potential.

The support will enable participants to build their confidence, attend training and in turn progress in their careers.

Claire Higgins, chief executive at Cross Keys Homes, said: “This is a great opportunity for us to really target some support specifically at a much overlooked group – those who are in work, but still finding it difficult to make ends meet.

“This project is a great example of how partnership working between companies and not for profit organisations can maximise expertise and resources, not only for the benefit of individuals, but also the local economy and society as a whole.”

Paydata is funding the skills workshops through its Hope 20 Foundation.

Owner, Paul Hajduk, said: “So many people today are working really hard for their families, but still finding it difficult to make ends meet.”

“Having met the families I can see they have a great drive and determination to build a better future for their families, they just need the support to find the right courses, to get some work experience or to develop their skills.”
