CKH normally runs six Careers Clubs at venues across the city, but these are now on hold due to the coronavirus. However, the support is still there, now offered by phone and online.

Whether individuals are looking for their first job, returning to work after a break, have recently lost their job or just looking for a better career, the support is there for them.

Through phone calls and video meetings, participants can learn how to identify job vacancies, write their CV and covering letter and perfect their interview skills. People will also be signposted to training that will give them the skills they need to get the job of their dreams.

Kate Newbolt, service manager - customer, community and stakeholder engagement at CKH, said: “We know that people are really struggling at the moment, with uncertainty about employment increasing and the job market becoming more competitive.

“We are committed to supporting people to get the skills they need to succeed in the workplace and reach their full potential. Our ‘virtual’ Careers Club, with expert support from the fabulous Air Learning, is helping us to deliver these, even though our in person clubs are impossible.”
