Margaret Halfhide’s wish was to return to London, a place she grew up and lived for many years.

The Magic Moments team arranged a day trip for Margaret, travelling by train to the capital and heading straight for Berkeley Square where Margaret enjoyed reminiscing. She was surprised at how much it had changed since her last visit.

Lunch at an Italian restaurant of Margaret’s choice was followed by a visit to Buckingham Palace, before a shopping trip at Covent Garden and heading back home on the train.

One of the organisers, Laura Judd said: “Margaret thoroughly enjoyed her day and the Magic Moments club team got her a souvenir to remember the occasion.

The team also arranged for a visit to Sacrewell Farm for resident Brian Shelton.

Brian always lived and worked on a farm, where he did everything from feeding and looking after the animals to driving the tractors and loading and unloading hay bales.

Laura added: “Before heading off around the farm we enjoyed a meal in the restaurant, sausage and chips - Brian’s favourite.

“We then took a leisurely stroll, petting and feeding pigs, horses, cows, sheep and donkeys. We later saw some old and new farm machinery, and Brian found it fascinating to see how much it had changed.

“Since our trip Brian hasn’t stopped telling his family and friends of the lovely day he enjoyed, and to help him reminisce we have made a scrapbook of photos for him to look at and share of his memorable day.”
