The company, which has its UK headquarters at the Allia Future Business Centre, ABAX Stadium, in Peterborough, is hoping the move will allow it to break into the Chinese market.

It is opening the office in the city of Nantong in Jiangsu province. It already operates in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Holland.

ABAX UK chief executive Chris Miller said: “This move outside of Europe really shows the ambition of ABAX and our confidence that we have the right products and technology to help an increasing number of markets, like we are seeing in the UK.”

ABAX, which saw revenue rise by 50 per cent to £30.5 million last year, will launch its main products in the Chinese market from August.
