The pair met through mutual friends in London and have since clicked, with Stefan - who has a digital marketing agency - helping James navigate the coronavirus pandemic which has seen Stilton Butchers transform itself from a £7 million turnover catering business into a £15 million retail butchers almost overnight.

Explaining the new business, James said: “I’ve done so much homework on steaks and I’ve found a quality which is better than anything else - it’s the Rolls Royce of steaks.

“It’s the crème de la crème of British meat.”

Visitors to whatsurbeef.co.uk will initially have a choice of more than half a dozen steaks up to 1.2kg.

Orders are then securely sealed and delivered the following day within a chosen hour time slot.

James added: “This is just the start of our brand. We can do this to such a high level and we want to supply everyone.

“The next thing will be to open a restaurant and have steaks from different countries.

“This is only the beginning.”

James was speaking to the Peterborough Telegraph ahead of the website’s launch this week. He stated that the name of the steak supplier will be listed on the website,

Stefan said: “I’m really excited to make the dream a reality and I look forward to all these hungry bellies being filled up!”
