Mechanical and electrical installation specialist, Vogal Group, in Welbeck Way, Woodston Industrial Estate, has just bought a 1.3 acres site at Kingston Park, in Hampton, where it will build a new head office and warehouse.

The cost is expected to total £1.75 million - with £1.2 million for the land and building the premises and about £400,000 for fittings.

The firm, which employs about 130 people, also plans to build a training centre for its apprentices to replace its current facilities at Ailsworth.

Chairman of the 30 year old company, Ben Atkins, said: “This a very exciting time for us.

“We expect to move into our new head office in mid-July this year and over the next 12 months we will be able to recruit about 30 extra staff.

“The second phase will be the construction of our training centre but we have not agreed a date for that yet. It will depend on the sale of our existing centre.”

The moves comes as the company enjoys a period of growth which is expected to get even better.

Mr Atkins said: “We are expecting growth of between 20 to 30 per cent over the next 12 months. However, the recent creation and success of Vogal Product Management, offering comprehensive project management, has left us thinking that growth could reach 50 per cent this year.”

Edward Gee, of Savills Peterborough, which oversaw the sale, said: “We are very pleased to have completed this sale and to welcome Vogal.

“The sale leaves just two remaining plots available on the site.”

He added: “Situated in a highly prominent position fronting Fletton Parkway and with easy access to Junction 17 of the A1, Kingston Park offers prime commercial land, perfect for a wide variety of uses.”

Mr Atkins added: “Since we first became aware of this development, I can genuinely say that through the procurement, design and planning process I have found Rob, Mark, Edward and their colleagues a pleasure to work with.

“We now very much look forward to the construction phases of the development through to our advised move in date. Thank you to everyone concerned.”
