Media giant reaffirms commitment to Peterborough with move to new offices

A TV and broadband provider has reaffirmed its commitment to Peterborough withe the opening of a new office in the city.

Virgin Media has just transferred the 240 staff who were working at two separate offices in the city to a new state-of-the-art unit.

The new offies are at Elmstead, Southgate Park, in Orton Southgate.

The previous offices were at Beechcraft and Apprentice, which are both close to the new premises.

The new 21,600 sq ft offices were opened by Virgin Media’s chief executive Tom Mockridge.

He said the new centre will be an important hub for the company’s business operations, which supports services to businesses, small and large.

Julie Agnew, director, business customer operations at Virgin Media, said: “We are delighted to be bringing together our business operations to this modern facility.

“The move further strengthens our commitment to Peterborough as an important strategic location for Virgin Media Business.”

The new Elmstead office will be equated with advanced digital infrastructure, which will be used by staff and visitors to the site.

“The move to Elmstead will create a consolidated modern workspace for colleagues, outlining Peterborough as a strategic location for Virgin Media Business.”

A spokeswoman for the Virgin Meda said that the company was not able to disclose financial details of acquiring and fitting out the new site.

Virgin Media offers four award-winning services broadband, TV, mobile phone and landline.
