Deadline looms for sale of new homes on site of Peterborough Telegraph's former printing press

An estate of 86 homes, from two to five bedrooms, is being built by Persimmon Homes in Woodston, near Sugar Way.

The development is known as The Print Works in recognition of the site’s former use as the home of The Peterborough Telegraph’s printing press.

The on-site sales office will open its doors to house hunters on January 30.

Steven Allenby, director of sales and marketing at Persimmon Homes East Midlands, said: “It is always exciting to launch new sites and we’re looking forward to opening the doors at The Print Works.

“We have had dozens of people register their interest in the development so we are expect lots of people to be eager to come and see what we have to offer.

“We have a stunning selection of two, three, four and five bedroom homes in a range of designs with something to suit all needs. This will widen the choice available in Peterborough.”

The houses will be sold off-plan initially with the first completions anticipated in the summer.

Mr Allenby said the buying off-plan is a great way to for people to personalise and customise their houses.

He said: “Reserving early on means that customers can personalise the property by choosing from a range of fixtures and fittings such as kitchen units, flooring, tiles and accessories.

“It also means that you can choose your preferred plot and give you the maximum amount of time to get everything sorted.”

Last week Persimmon Homes East Midlands, which has 100 employees and has its headquarters in Peterborough, announced that it also plans to start work on developments in Kirton, Holdingham, Yaxley and Witham in the first half of the year, while actively working with local authorities to gain planning permission in Fenstanton, Narborough and Peterborough.
