The group of 19 from the BGL Group, in Bakewell Road, Orton Southgate, painted the Way In Community House, in Copsewood, Werrington, giving it a fresh feel and making it an attractive place to socialise.

The team used some of their community funds to purchase new blinds, curtains and cushions, bringing the house right into the 21st century.

BGL Group also donated a desk and pedestal along with five laptops which has helped the centre set up a cyber café aimed at tackling the ‘digital exclusion’ in the area as there is currently limited public internet access.

Michele Hunt, manager of the Way In Community House, which is part of Werrington Parish Church, said: “BGL Group has been amazing in helping us to transform The Way In Community House.

“The update has given a professional feel to the House but more importantly, it has made a positive impact to the lives of those in the local community who use the house.

“The laptops have provided additional support to people who have previously been unable to access the internet, helping to improve their future opportunities.”
