Visitors to Peterborough’s Ferry Meadows urged to think of others as busy week expected

With the easing of lockdown, the first signs of spring sunshine and the Easter break, scores of families are expected to visit the park over the next few days.
Yesterday saw a high number of visitors - although thankfully, no major issues with litter were reported.

Hide AdLast year when lockdown was eased, litter became a major at the park, leaving rangers with extra work to keep it in a tidy condition.
Last year there were also problems with social distancing in car parks- with Ferry Meadows car park being forced to close as a result.
This year the overflow car park at Oak Meadow - with more than 600 extra spaces - is ready to use.

Hide AdAs the parks get busier staff are asking visitors to follow social distancing measures, and be considerate to other Park users:
-️ Walk in single file on narrow paths and bridges, giving way to others
-️ Keep dogs on the lead and under control to help with social distancing

Hide Ad-️ Cyclists to keep a 2m distance from pedestrians and maintain a reduced speed in the Park
-️ Use the hand sanitiser stations regularly
-️ Leave the Park as you would like to find it. Please dispose of your litter carefully making sure you use the correct bins at all times.
