Man arrested after Peterborough service station burglary this morning

A quick thinking witness helped Peterborough police foil a service station burglary in the early hours of this morning.
A 36-year-old man was arrested just 15 minutes after a burglary occurred at the Murco Service Station on Eastfield Road, Peterborough at 3.15am today, Tuesday February 9.
Officers in the area responded promptly to the alarm sounding after a quick thinking witness alerted the police, which led to the prompt identification and arrest of the suspect.
He has been held in police custody for questioning.
