Do you remember the street scenes in these splendid old pictures of Peterborough city centre?

Two are of Bridge Street, obviously long before pedestrianisation.

The pictures were probably taken in the early 1960s.

In one you can see the Town Hall in the background and a rather stern looking traffic warden in the foreground.

The second one was taken from a little further down towards Town Bridge and there’s some great old cars in shot.

Who had a Ford Anglia or a Morris Minor?

Do you remember home furnishing store Hardy & Co?

The last picture shows workmen paving over Long Causeway.

Can anyone date this one? Interesting to see that Halifax are still in the same location.
