We can no longer call them 'lucky Arsenal'

I CAN understand why the wives he has dumped would hate him, but why does no-one else in the world of golf appear to like Nick Faldo?
From Azinger to Allis they queue up to have a go at a great British player who has also made the transfer to the TV world with great skill.

The selfishness that Faldo has displayed in his personal life has also led him to multiple major wins.

It will most likely lead to him captaining a Ryder Cup triumph in September as well, when he would deserve a knighthood rather then abuse.

Having watched the Brits collapse mentally and physically at the last in this year's Masters, I wish we had a few more golfers with the single-mindedness of Faldo.

Instead we have sartorial clowns like Ian Poulter who can only make headlines with the clothes he wears or the stupid comments he makes.

I MAY have misjudged Gary Lineker's BBC role at the Masters. The job didn't require a golf professional as I had suggested, it just required someone capable of reading an autocue.

Lineker spent the entire five hours of the final day's coverage reading out the scores. He conducted no interviews, although on Saturday for some unfathomable reason he did quiz Bruce Forsyth.

Conversely Sam Torrance has overtaken Peter Allis as the best golf pundit in the land.

AFTER the couple of weeks they've just had, I don't think we can call them 'lucky Arsenal' any more.

Two hopeless penalty decisions dumped them out of the Champions League and then they lose their last Premier League opportunity at Manchester United even though they played virtually all the decent football in a thrilling contest.

Having a clumsy giraffe at centre-forward cost them dear at Old Trafford as did the fact that they had no-one good enough to either help him or replace him.

And yet despite the glaring deficiencies in his squad, manager Arsene Wenger insists he will be signing just the one major player in the summer.

This stubborn streak is also stopping him picking Theo Walcott in place of gruesome Eboue and is beginning to cost a club without a trophy in three seasons

I'D wager that if Cristiano Ronaldo or any Arsenal player had tried and failed to win as many penalties as Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard on Sunday there would have been a national outrage.

And yet Gerrard didn't even receive a yellow card for a number of 'falls' which suggested either he was trying to continuously con the referee or that he's a total lightweight when faced with physical contact.

SWIMMING has gone the way of athletics and cycling. World and national records are being broken on a daily basis, but only artificially.

Gone are the days when long arms, powerful shoulders and a pair of trunks were the essential swimming equipment. Now competitors wear a swimsuit which allows them to power through the water at ridiculous speeds.

'Technological doping' is how one national coach described it and he wasn't wrong. It's not fair because not every country has access to the suits.

OF course it was disappointing that Posh failed to impress the majority of another bumper crowd on Saturday, but to hear some of those present talking over the weekend you'd think the team had just been relegated rather than remaining in a position to win the League Two title.

Third place would represent a great success in a season that has already produced more magical and memorable moments than in any other in my memory.

I know footballers are thick but if you don't want a fellow pro to fall over in the box don't bang into him.
Do what the Blackburn defence eventually did and let him by so he can score. Don't like Liverpool or Chelsea so you must be a Scummer or a Gooner

I suspect the latter. I went to an an Arsenal dinner last week and had to take my own plastic knife and fork as there was no silverware again. Ha ha.

Breaking News also. Thieves took advantage of the CL match the other week and broke into 2 star players houses. Gerrard is missing his CL medal, FA Cup Medals, UEFA cup medals and the cheeky chimps even stole his MBE. Fabrgeas also had hisflat in North London broken into. Thieves there stole a toaster and kettle....

Why, all of a sudden is there talk of Gerrard being a diver? He has been doing it for a while now. We must applaud the referee for Sundays display.
