A week on from the devastating blaze which tore through a warehouse, near Whittlesey, investigators have visited the charred shell of the building for the first time.

John Guiguet, who fled the blaze that turned a Whittlesey warehouse into an inferno said today he was just 20 seconds from death as flames roared towards him.

AS dawn broke over Whittlesey today, the full extent of the devastating factory fire was clear to see as only the twisted metal remains of the building were left smouldering.

THE huge plume of smoke which climbed hundreds of feet above the blazing Whittlesey warehouse evoked memories of another major fire in the town.

Drivers urged to avoid town - trains cancelled
Motorists are still being advised to avoid the Whittlesey area if possible, as the A605 remains closed in one direction.
