Yellow Brick Road leads to Cresset at Easter

Oh no it isn't! Oh yes it is! Easter panto is just around the corner and The Wizard of Oz is heading to Peterborough for two performances on April 18 .

Coronation Street and Dancing on Ice star Steven Arnold, famous for playing one of the most beloved characters in the history of the nation’s favourite soap – Ashley Peacock, leaves his butchering days behind him for life in a farmer’s field, starring as the hilarious Scarecrow.

Steven has now become a family favourite to Peterborough panto audiences having previously appeared in “Peter Pan” last Christmas at The Cresset and also The Wizard of Oz in 2014.

Starring alongside Steven is Britain’s Got Talent finalist Steven Hall, who will be playing everyone’s favourite scaredy-cat the Cowardly Lion.

Steven’s special dancing

skills were first introduced on Britain’s Got Talent back in April 2011.

He then proceeded to dance his way through to the live semi-finals, and ultimately the final.

Since then he has appeared on the Britain’s Got Talent arena tour and his act has now also taken him as far as Germany and America to perform.

Completing the cast are Blackpool cabaret star Victoria Roberts, who plays the terrifying Wicked Witch of the West, loveable Gary Amos as Tin Man, Mervyn Francis plays the mysterious role of The Wizard of Oz, vocalist Bessie McMillan is Dorothy Gale, and Lauren Wootton will play Glinda The Good Fairy.

Local children from The Ministry of Dance in Deeping have been rehearsing for weeks in preparation for performing as the famous Munchkins and will sing, act and dance throughout the show.
