Nene Outdoors will be hosting an open day for visitors to try out watersports activities such as kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding this weekend.
Earlier this year, Nene Park Trust took over the management of Nene Outdoors, located at the Lakeside Centre in Ferry Meadows.
To celebrate the reopening of Nene Outdoors, the Trust is hosting a Family Fun Day on Sunday where visitors will be offered 50% off the cost of all pay and play activities, including windsurfing, sailing and pedalos.
There will be numerous activities going on around the Lakeside Centre including free mini food and drinks and music in Lakeside Kitchen & Bar, and a children’s paper boat competition.
Free taster sessions in sailing and windsurfing will also be available throughout the day hosted by qualified instructors.
Just remember to take a towel, old shoes that can get wet and a swimming costume/trunks. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to complete parental consent forms.
Anna Thompson, Outdoor Education and Activities Manager at Nene Park Trust said: “We’re excited about our Family Fun Day taking place at Nene Outdoors. Have you ever wanted to learn the difference between a canoe and a kayak? Or maybe you’d like to try out a paddle board? We’ll have lots of instructors available on hand on the day for you to try out something new so come along and get involved in the fun!”
To book your place on a taster session, you can either go to Nene Outdoors on the day or pre-book by calling 01733 230291. Drop-in any time for boat hire.
