Agents acting for Peterborough businessman Rinaldo Fasulo have today written requesting a meeting with city council leader John Holdich as the Broadway Theatre saga rumbles on.
After details of a proposed multi-million pound apartments development were revealed in the Peterborough Telegraph last week, councillor Holdich today confirmed for the first time that the city council had made a bid for the theatre, which “remained on the table”. Full story here
He also said a theatre operator had expressed an interest in running the business with the council.
However, Rinaldo, who has owned the building since 2004 and is in negotiation to sell it to developers (full story here), broke his silence through Gavin Hynes, a director at Budworth Hardcastle.
“Negootiations began last August when surveryors acting for the council carried out an inspection,” he said.
“I can confirm that the city council did make an offer on January 29 which we rejected on February 5. We have not heard from the council since March when we informed them that we were pursuing other uses for the building.
“However, we have today written to request a meeting with councillor Holdich to clarrify matters.”
