Looking to get October off to a flying start is this year’s Autumn Food and Country Fair in Peterborough - and we have TEN family tickets to give away.
Peterborough Arena at the East of England Showground hosts the annual seasonal extravaganza on Sunday, October 9, offering something for everyone.
As the only event of its kind in the region, the Autumn Food and Country Fair is almost 40 years old and still going strong - mixing family fun, outdoor pursuits and country living all in one fantastic day.
New and popular attractions lined up to delight this year’s visitors include:
Personal appearances at intervals throughout the day from Scooby-Doo™
Super star Shetland Pony, Thunder Pants, from Ely – who be showing the crowd his moves in the main display ring from dressage to music, showjumping and fancy dress fun.
A display by the East Anglian Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club display team.
Companion Dog Show.
Exhibitions of rare breed cattle, sheep, pigs and goats.
Daring displays .
Dozens of trade stands .
Kids Country events for children.
Classic car and vintage tractor displays.
Little Rovers pint sized Land Rovers for youngsters to drive around a circuit
British Pig Association Young Stock Handlers.
Dog & Duck Display.
Birds of Prey Display.
Food, drink and shopping area.
Wisbech Shire Horse Show.
The event has become the home of the The Supreme London Championships Small Livestock Show in recent years, billed as the rabbit world’s equivalent of Crufts.
And for those who want to get a little more involved, there is the chance of competing with some of the country’s most successful vegetable growing gurus at the popular East of England Giant Vegetable Competition.
If you see yourself as a budding Mary Berry or Paul Hollywood, you may wish to enter the WI Open Baking Competition, and rustle up some prize winning cheese scones, artisan bread, classic Victoria sandwich or an edible necklace!
Peterborough Arena event manager Kerry Buttriss said: “We are really excited about this year’s show – with more new attractions which we hope our visitors will enjoy.
“With a crowd of over 10,000 last year we are hoping for similar numbers in October, and are delighted that the wide appeal of Fair and its popular features keep bringing people from across the region back year after year to enjoy a day dedicated to fun, fur, feathers and food!”
Advance tickets cost £8 (adults) and parking is free.
