Appearing all on the same night at the Cresset on Sunday we have Carl Palmer and his band performing the ELP Legacy. Martin Turner and his band playing the music of Wishbone Ash, and the classic line up of legendary folk band The Strawbs!
Carl Palmer is one of the world’s greatest drummers - a consummate professional, a brilliant technician and a dynamic showman - he has thrilled listeners and audiences alike for nearly four decades whilst playing with such memorable bands as Atomic Rooster, The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown and of course Asia.
Carl will be joined by Paul Bielatowicz on guitars and Simon Fitzpatrick on bass as the band reproduce classic ELP tunes such as “Barbarian” and “Hoedown”.
Martin Turner was a founding member of the Legendary Wishbone Ash. As singer, bassist and songwriter Martin played a distinctive part In the development of the unique musical identity that enveloped the band through their high quality guitar-driven melodic rock music.
Wishbone Ash enjoyed huge success with millions of album sales through such classic titles as “Argus”; Pilgrimage”; “There’s The Rub”, “New England” and “Live Dates”
The Strawbs is still led by the mercurial Dave Cousins who is joined by lead guitarist Dave Lambert and the versatile Chas Cronk who together formed the front-line of the classic 1970’s line-up of the band. As the Strawbs move into their fifth decade of music making it is still difficult to categorise the unique sound.
