Follow the Key Youth Theatre ‘Into the Woods’ for this year’s summer musical.

Following two consecutive years of sell-out summer musical productions, including Les Misérables (2013) and West Side Story (2014), the talented youth of KYT return with Stephen Sondheim’s classic macabre twist on fairy tale folklore, giving you a different side to the stories you’re used to.

Recently a critically acclaimed motion picture starring Meryl Streep, the young performers of KYT are eager to go ‘Into the Woods’ to bring you this unique staple of musical theatre storytelling back to its roots in the live and intimate environment of the Key Theatre.

Into the Woods is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales in a musical format that follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel - all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them.

You are bound to recognise many familiar faces from the last two years, once again showcasing the talents KYT has to offer in abundance.

The group also welcomes a host of new faces to this year’s cast who, along with last year’s production team, are set to make it stronger than ever.

KYT’s production team of director Paul Crosby, choreographer Lisa Collings and Musical Director Steve Hession will once again be at the helm for what they promise to be ‘the must see show of the Summer’.

The show runs from August 19 to August 22 at 7.30pm (plus 2.30pm Saturday matinée). Tickets are £15.50, £12 concessions evening performance with the matinée just £14, £11.50 concessions.
