Pantomime season is over for another year.... oh no it isn’t just yet!

Polka Dot Pantomimes production of Beauty and the Beast opens today (Thursday) for a short run at Stamford Arts Centre in St Mary’s Street.

It is a classic story for all the family with plenty of audience participation, modern songs to sing along to, huge amounts of laughter and a great story to ensure that everyone leaves with a smile on their face.

There will be new and familiar faces in the professional cast and a very special appearance by a panto pooch as he makes his theatrical debut!

Once upon a time, a handsome young prince was cursed by Grimalkin – the evil sorceress, and is doomed to stay hidden in his castle in the guise of a grotesque beast.

Can anyone ever love such a beast and unlock the cruel spell?

Will Belle and her captivating love save the beast from his ill-fated destiny?

Make-believe, magic, music and mayhem provide a “beauty-full” new year treat for all.

Tickets costs£12 (£11 concs, £9 for groups of 10+ and £7 for schools.

There are shows today at 10.30am and 6.30pm; Friday at 10.30am and 6.30pm; Saturday at 11am, 2pm and 6.30pm; and Sunday at 11am and 2pm .
