There are plenty of sporting and leisure activities for youngsters in Peterborough during half term week.

Britain’s favourite cheeky little piggies, Peppa and George, will be entertaining the crowds during narrated storytelling sessions held in Queensgate’s Central Square, outside Primark, on Friday, 21 February.

Storytelling sessions will take place at 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm and 6pm.

Other events include an introduction to Italian wines for mum and dad, at Carluccio’s on Wednesday, and for the kids a pretzel rolling competition at Auntie Anne’s on Saturday, 22nd February.

Bookings are open for Sports Xtra’s Xperience days for five to 11 year olds at the Jack Hunt School, Bushfield and Werrington Leisure Centres from 17 to 21 February.

The events include Detective Xperience, Spy Xperience: Dance Xperience, and Futsal Xperience.

The fees are £18 per day, per child.

Nature loving youngsters can keep boredom at bay during this month’s half term by taking part in a trail at Ferry Meadows.

The event takes place daily until Sunday, 23 February from 10am until 3pm.

Children can collect a trail sheet from the visitor centre and hunt for clues on a walk around Ferry Meadows. Return to the visitor centre to collect your prize, more at www.neneparktrust.org.uk

Sporty youngsters are invited to enjoy football courses in the city south area during half term.

Courses are being held by One Touch Football at the Riverside Pavilion in Candy Street, Woodston from 19 to 21 February and at Stanground St John’s Primary School on 20 and 21 February.

Children aged between four and 14 can join in.

Peterborough Museum is teaming up with the Natural History Museum to become an ‘Menagerie at the Museum’ next week, from 10am to 5pm from 17-21st.

Take part in themed arts and crafts sessions or enjoy animal storytelling sessions.

An exciting range of disability sessions are suitable for all ages and abilities that run throughout the year.

They include swimming, archery, basketball, cycling, and balance and coordination

All sessions require pre-booking, are suitable for ages 5 – 19 (with the exception of Balance and Coordination for ages 7+) and priced at £2 each, except FINS Swimming (£40 for 10 lessons) and Archery (£24 for 6 week block).

Werrington Rollers Family Skate takes place every Saturday at Werrington Leisure Centre.

The sessions runs from 5 – 8pm with £3.50 entry (£11 family of four), skate hire £1.50 per person, or bring your own.
