TEMPORARY cameras have been springing up as city bosses try to get a snapshot of the use of Peterborough’s cycle routes.

Matt Barber, Peterborough City Council’s sustainable travel officer, said the cameras have been put up over the past two days at around 60 sites across the city.

He said: “The data gathered will be used to generate a fresh understanding of the number of cyclists on the network and will identify the links that are most heavily used.

“This information will then be used to pinpoint areas where we can work to encourage more people to cycle, as well as to identify any additional improvement works that can be undertaken.”
