From punk to pink, AW13’s hottest catwalk looks offer something special for every fashion fan.
So if you love to stay bang on trend, make sure you head to Queensgate for the autumn fashion weekend later this month
As well as a host of exciting offers from the centre’s retailers, the weekend will feature The Show; a fabulous fashion show taking place throughout September 28/29, where you can see all of the season’s key looks hit the catwalk in Central Square.
Vanessa White, star of pop-royalty girl band The Saturdays, chats about marking the most stylish date of the year in Queensgate’s calendar on September 28, her fashion favourites and what she likes most about the city.
Hi Vanessa, are you looking forward to hosting The Show at Queensgate on September 28?
Yes, I can’t wait to see the models on the catwalk in the season’s hottest looks.
The Show will be a fantastic chance to meet all of Peterborough’s fashion fans and they also get to see all the key trends for the Autumn and winter season.
What do you like most about Peterborough?
It has to be the shopping! Queensgate has so much choice; personally I am a big fan of all things high street.
My favourites are Topshop, Miss Selfridge, H&M and Oasis.
I also love the fact that you can grab a bite to eat after a full day of shopping in one of the restaurants in Cathedral Square.
Would you come back to Peterborough for a girly weekend?
Definitely! The city has so much to offer – great shopping, fantastic restaurants and plenty of nightlife, what more could a girl want!
How would you describe your style?
I’m a huge fan of high street shops like River Island and Warehouse for all my essential pieces which help me stay on trend.
I also like to indulge in the odd designer piece, but I tend to choose classic pieces that will last a few seasons if I do choose to splash out.
What trends are you most excited about for AW13?
I like all of them! Shopping on the high street is so good, it makes mixing up your look so easy.
Just adding a new jacket or even some statement jewellery can totally change an outfit, which means you can always stay bang on trend even if you’re on a budget.
What would your key piece for next season be?
I absolutely love the bold, bright coats that I saw at a lot of the catwalk shows, so I would definitely say that I will be on the hunt for the perfect statement coat, perhaps in a hot pink or bright blue.
What are your key pieces for the perfect party look?
Obviously as a band we are quite glam and I really do love getting dressed up for a big night out!
I also like to wear a bright, bold lipstick, as I feel it always adds the finishing touch to my look.
What have your biggest fashion mistakes been?
Well there have been a couple over the years, but I’m just like everybody else and you just have to find out what suits you and what doesn’t.
I love shopping on the high street as it allows everyone to have fun with all of the different trends every season, the key is just making it work for you.
