Hundreds of people turned out to Feel the Force at Peterborough’s Parkway Club, in Lincoln Road.

Star guest was Yaxley-based Warwick Davis, who played the Ewok Wicket in Return of the Jedi.

Feel the Force was billed as the first ever Star Wars meet and greet day.

It was aimed at people who are visually impaired or who have learning difficulties. It was a hands-on event with more than 50 costumes, jars containing Star Wars “smells”, “real Wookie fur” and a large collection of Star Wars toys.

Organisers say that about 400 people attended the event including about 170 toddlers with disabilities.

Organiser JJ Lucia-Wright, of Extreme Clowning in Westwood, Peterborough, said: “This is the first event of its kind and the biggest in Peterborough for people who have disabilities.”
