A FAMILY of geese held up traffic when they decided to take a short cut to Ferry Meadows at the weekend.
Two determined adult geese proudly paraded their goslings along the Nene Parkway, to make sure it wasn't just the horns of passing cars doing the honking.

The Canadian geese showed no fear as they waddled down the Peterborough parkway, close to the Orton Malborne slip-road.

It was ET photographer Paul Franks who spotted the unlikely jaywalkers on Saturday morning (June 14).

He said: "Cars were slowing down where they wouldn't normally do so, and it was then I saw the geese. But I didn't spot the two small ones at first.

"Luckily they stayed away from the cars, so they were safe from becoming foie gras. Maybe they were off to the East of England Showground, but more likely they fancied a dip at Ferry Meadows."
