BUDDING David Beckhams came from far and wide to enjoy a football fun day in the city.
Youngsters from Spalding and Huntingdon joined those from the city attending the sporting activity taking place at Orton Longueville School.

The session was organised by the Kick Off Soccer School, which operates in sports centres and places of education across the area.

The children had the opportunity to learn new skills relating to the beautiful game and compete in a mini tournament.

Kick Off School manager Adam Clement said: "The event went really well. We had quite mixture of abilities, from kids playing regularly for teams to those who had not competed much at all.

"There were some promising stars in the making, I was impressed with some of the skills on show and a few really stuck out.

"We had a mini World Cup tournament and some skills challenges, where we would demonstrate a trick and the kids would then have to try and replicate it.

"It was a lot of fun for them, they all seemed to enjoy it and learnt new skills they can put into practice when playing for their clubs."

Similar sessions are being run in Netherton and the Deepings during the February half term.
