CREATIVE types are being encouraged to join an art group in Bourne.
The Bourne and District Art Society has 25 members already, but organisers are always on the look-out for new people.
Artists meet once a week at the studio in Wake House, North Street for four hours of painting and drawing.
There are also demo
nstrations, outdoor painting days during the summer, an annual dinner and a Christmas party, as well as visits to art fairs and exhibitions.
Robbie Britton, who attends the group, said: "It's interesting and a lot of fun. We are open to beginners as well as improvers. It is something everyone can enjoy."
Members must supply their own materials but there are video and reference books for people to use.
Mrs Britton added: "We are all friends and the ages of our members range from 25 to 75, although there are more elderly people because they have got the time to come to the meetings."
Artist's work is exhibited in the summer at Wake House and at Christmas, but members are encouraged to enter other exhibitions in the Bourne area.
Anyone interested in getting involved is welcome to visit a pen and watercolour demonstration by Anne Smart on February 28 for which there are five places still available.
To book a place, call Mrs Britton on 01778 570145.
Alternatively, anyone wanting to join the group is welcome to turn up on Thursdays between 1pm and 4pm. There is an annual fee of £12 and a weekly fee of £4.
