Posh We Are is available to buy today, and it's hoped the song will crash into the Top 40 when it is revealed next Sunday afternoon.
But this will only happen if you buy it – now.
The song is only available as an internet download, and the best way to do it is to click on one of the many links at
www.poshweare.co.uk - it costs less than £1.
It is a collaborative charity project between Peterborough United, the Free Kicks Foundation, The Lightyears and the city's Voyager School.
Steve Thorpe is the co-founder of the Free Kicks Foundation, and decided to put out a new version of the team's anthem on record to raise money.
The city-based foundation was set up to provide football- related activities for ill, bereaved and disadvantaged children, by giving them a day to remember with their favourite team.
Mr Thorpe said: "We have created the website to make it easier. Here, you can not only view the video for the song, but it also has links for all the websites to buy the song from.
"We need every Posh fan to download a copy of the song, and to encourage lots of other people to do the same.
"It would be great to have the song in the charts, the day after we properly celebrate promotion at the Darlington game this Saturday."
Peterborough players, including George Boyd and Joe Lewis, lent their voices to the track, which was recorded by pupils, dedicated Posh fans, and the band at the Voyager School, in Mountsteven Avenue, Walton.
The Evening Telegraph is backing the tune and is asking everyone to download it and get it into the Top 40 this weekend.
Editor Mark Edwards said: "It's been a great season for the fans, with Posh winning promotion. now let's get Posh We Are into the charts."
It is estimated that about 4,500 sales should see it enter.
A spokesman for the UK singles charts said: "The amount of copies of each record sold to make the Top 40 varies each week. But we are seeing a lot more singles, available on download only, getting in."
Hereward FM breakfast show host and Evening Telegraph columnist Kev Lawrence is also urging people to download the song.
Today, he interviewed pupils who took part in the making of the record and gave it the first airing on radio.
About 250 Voyager pupils will be performing Posh We Are with The Lightyears in front of an expected sell-out crowd at Peterborough's last match on Saturday.
A special charity concert has been arranged at the school, on May 17.
