BREAKING NEWS 10.15AM: A LORRY has overturned causing delays on a mayor route into Peterborough.

The articulated lorry, which toppled over on Crowland Road, Eye, is believed to be carrying fruit.

The driver escaped through his cab and is believed to have slight injuries.

The A1073 was shut for two hours this morning causing major chaos during the rush hour traffic.

Melanie James, who was walking her children to school, when she heard the lorry slam on its brakes, said: "I was walking over the flyover bridge when I saw the lorry go over. I saw the driver get out and he looked ok, but there was a lot of traffic piling up. It is going to be busy down there for some time."
