PETERBOROUGH'S MP pressed home the need for earlier services from the city to Stansted Airport during a meeting with a Network Rail manager.
Stewart Jackson said he discussed a range of issues with Colette Fowler, public affairs manager of Network Rail North East, Yorkshire and Humber.
Late night fast Saturday services from London to Peterborough was one of them.
The other was the lack of an early morning service from the city to Stansted airport, the nearest airport to Peterborough.

Speaking after the meeting, Mr Jackson said: "We had a productive discussion and I certainly gave Colette plenty of issues to go away with.
"One of the most pertinent sections of our discussion was surrounding early morning services to Stansted Airport. It is a travesty that the first service from Peterborough to Stansted arrives at only 08.49. You can get to Stansted from Cambridge as early as 05.13.
"The train operator, Arriva Cross Country, needs to wake up and realise it is not only providing a sub-standard service for my constituents, but also exacerbating the problems on the A14 by forcing people into their cars."
