ANIMALS at Sacrewell Farm are helping to capture the imagination of children from a club at St Mary's Church, in Wansford.
Staff at the farm, in Thornhaugh, arranged an appearance from Sprocket the lamb at the May meeting of the Bright Sparks group.

Members were entertained by Sprocket's attempts to take a starring role in the story of David the Shepherd Boy.

Sprocket occasionally forgot his lines as he wandered around the neighbouring gardens and did what lambs do in the community hall.

Eventually, however, Sprocket was encouraged to make his way from the group's meeting to parish communion at St Mary's, where he was welcomed by the congregation.

Canon Thomas Christie said: "We are delighted that our initiative in developing a young person's Sunday school, in a fun but relevant way, is beginning to capture the imagination of the children in our village.

"I am told that, next month, a local pony may well be taking the starring role."
