MISS Pickering in Stamford is just one of 12 florists in the country to be selected for a new flower book.
Owned by Simone Pickering, the store's Floral Emporium in St Paul's Street, Stamford, is featured for the month of March in the book called Flower Shops and Friends – a year's journey around English flower shops.

As well as Miss Pickering's beautiful flower shop, the book also features other attractions around Stamford to give the reader a feel for the area, including the award winning Olive Branch pub at Clipsham.

Author Sally Page said: "Many compilations of the country's top flower shops concentrate almost exclusively on London.

"I decided in my book to celebrate the exquisite florists that are scattered around the rest of England from Dartmouth to the Lake District.

"The flower shops I photographed for the book demonstrate the vast array of floral talent that exists throughout England, including Miss Pickering, who creates many exquisite arrangements using flowers from local growers such as Naylor Flowers at Moulton Common."

The book, which is the third in The Flower Shop series, is set to hit bookstores in the coming weeks.
