PLAYING fields were decked out with stalls and brimming with entertainment as crowds flocked to a fund-raising day in the village of Easton-on-the-Hill, near Stamford.
The village hosted a car boot sale to help raise funds for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and organisers counting the cash say it ran into the hundreds.

As well as sales on the stalls, the day also featured karate and tae kwon-do demonstrations, hip-hop dancing and an arts and crafts fair.

Meanwhile, owner of Duddington's Royal Oak Hotel, Alan Freeman, put in a turn singing Elvis Presley songs.

The occasion was organised by the Highground Tenants Association.

Chairman Ken Blowers reckons almost 1,000 people showed up, much to his delight.

He said: "Our aim was to make a nice donation to the air ambulance and we were very pleased with how things went. People had a great time."

Organisers have expressed their thanks to Stamford Air Cadets who supported the event, along with sponsors Spire Homes, FWA Contractors, Rockingham Forest Housing and Ketton Cement which donated prizes for a raffle.
