Cyclist killed in traffic collision

A cyclist has died following a collision near the A1 yesterday (September 1).
Maureen Whitmore (53), from Stamford, died from her injuries at Peterborough District Hospital following the crash in Tinwell.

A red Ford Escort and a silver Ford Focus were also involved in the crash at the junction of the A6121 Tinwell Road and the A1.

The Focus was travelling towards Stamford and the Escort was travelling in the opposite direction.

Mrs Whitmore was stationary on her bicycle on the pavement at the time of the incident.

PC Gary Mundy, who is investigating the collision, urged witnesses to call him on 0116 222 2222.
